Reopened under new ownership in April 2021, Jefferson Market & General Store is a small market located in the village of Jefferson, Maine. We have a small kitchen serving breakfast, hot and cold specialty sandwiches, burgers, pizza and grab and go food items. 

Periodically, we seek additional staff to help us achieve our business goals.

Ideal candidates are experienced and confident cooking on a grill, enjoy working with the public (open kitchen), and with our team.  

We offer both part time and year round employment. Breakfast/lunch shifts (6 am - 2 pm) and lunch/dinner shifts (11 am - 7 pm+). Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. 

As a market/general store we offer fast but quality food that requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask and work efficiently.  Ideal candidates must be able to work with a team but also be able to work independently. Daily tasks include preparing menu items, prep work, maintaining a clean workstation, grill, and dishes, monitoring supplies and stock, and being personable with customers. 

Skills and Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Must be reliable, prompt and have a positive attitude. Serve Safe Certified, Line/Prep Cook experience is preferred but will train. 

Competitive wages; pay is based on experience.
